Aoi and Yūma live on a small island near the very end of Okinawa called Tarama. During a beach stroll Yūma find a shard with interesting markings on them. To discover the origin of the shard Yūma and Aoi decide to investigate where it came from.
This picture book (written by Jose Schreurs) is based on the historic event that took place on Tarama (Okinawa) when the "Van Bosse" crashed on a nearby reef in the 19th century. As an addition to the formal research the Dutch Cultural Heritage Agency created the picture book as a means to preserve the local history in a playful way.
